Title: CHRISTOPHER ROBIN

Year: 2018 Directed By: Marc Foster Written By: Alex Ross Perry, Tom McCarthy, Allison Schroeder Story By: Greg Brooker, Mark Steven Johnson Duration: 1 hour 44 minutes Genre: Family, Comedy, Adventure Starring: Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, Bronte Carmichael Language: English Score: 6/10

This movie is clearly made to remind you of your childhood, especially for those who grew up watching and reading Winnie The Pooh. When I first watched the trailer, I didn't think this will be an amazing movie that will last forever in everyone's mind. Well, my final opinion isn't very different with my expectations, but I like it more than I thought.

WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT IT?

1. CUTENESS OVERLOAD

As everyone knows, Pooh is very cute with his clumsiness and how plain he is. The other characters might not be described as cute. But now that you're older, seeing Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and everyone else in the gang being themselves, makes you feel they're entirely cute. I personally couldn't stop smiling seeing the gang in action for how cute they are.

2. A PERFECTLY SWEET FAMILY MOVIE

I can definitely imagine watching this as a family with little kids. The movie is family-friendly, cute, simple, full of joy, and very suitable for kids. A real definition of family movie.

3. TAKES YOU BACK TO YOUR CHILDHOOD

To be honest, I almost decided to not watch the movie because I can guess the plot is extremely simple, which might make it boring. Eventually, I watched it anyway, because I'm just excited to see Pooh and his friends again. And when it comes to touching that childish side of you that was shaped by Winnie The Pooh, this movie succeeded. I seemed to be filled with joy throughout the movie, seeing Pooh and everyone else on their adventure again. Not to mention the movie also includes a lot of quotes and other stuffs that are originally in the books and animation to remind you more of your childhood.

4. THE ACTORS AND VOICE ACTORS

Ewan McGregor did a good job portraying Christopher Robin. He's not the sweet young Christopher Robin (because he's meant to be like that), but the vibe is there. The voice actors play an important part because the characters' voices is the one kids remember the most. When Pooh said "Christopher Robin" with his usual tone, when Piglet went "Oh,dear, oh dear..." with the trembling voice, and the excited noise Tigger makes when he bounces; they're all on point.

WHAT'S NOT GOOD ABOUT IT?

1. THE ANIMATION

To be honest, for me, Pooh looks a little terrifying in this movie with the fur and the darker yellow color. The other characters are not as bad, but their realistic fur is quite disturbing and takes away the image of their softness (physically).

WHAT'S SO-SO ABOUT IT?

1. A VERY SIMPLE STORY

It is a joyous family movie with some simple moral messages that aren't dark at all, meaning not very applicable in real adult life. The whole plot is simple, with simple problems, and simple solutions. It's not too boring, but it's predictable and not very different than the other good family movies.

2. SIMPLE AND PREDICTABLE ENDING

The ending is also very predictable. I don't say it's disappointing, but it's not wow at all. You don't feel satisfaction whatsoever after the ending. Your satisfaction and smile comes from reliving your childhood after seeing all of Pooh's cuteness.

So, for those who grew up watching and reading Winnie The Pooh, this movie will not disappoint you. It will give you joy because it reminds you so much of your childhood, and maybe also wakes up the little kid side you have inside you. Christopher Robin is not a masterpiece like Star Wars or The Godfather. It's not dark or complicated. Its purpose is to give you some time to rest from your adult life and revisit your childhood, and it serves the purpose well.

Should you watch it? Yes

It promised horror, it promised suspense, and man, oh man, does it deliver!  WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT IT? 1. BRINGING BACK THE CLASSIC ALIEN GENRE Which is horror in a sci-fi setting. Director Fede Álvarez is a major fan of Alien and he knows very well about what makes the film work in the first place. It was scary and tense,...

The Meg

But because this is the only popular one playing in cinemas that I haven't watched, I eventually did watch it. The Meg is somehow enjoyable but stays in that middle area where it's not good enough to be considered a great movie, but has a chance of falling to the bad-movie-area.  WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT IT? 1. THE SUSPENSE AND JUMPSCARE There is almost no shark movie without suspense and jumpscare. They're like the whole poi...

What We Do In The Shadows

The language is English but it's from New Zealand, so you'll hear an English accent you don't hear very often. I've heard of the movie and saw the trailer once but I've forgotten about it. I decided to watch it out of curiosity and the awesome reviews it recieved. Also, because it's co-written, co-directed, and co-starred by Taika Waititi a.k.a Thor: Ragnarok director. Well, thankfully it didn't disappoint me at all as I ended up having really great laugh fo...
